On November 19, 2001 , the Board of Supervisors adopted redistricting Plan 21. Under this plan, District 1 is comprised of the area from the reservation line at Ehrenberg on the South side to the reservation line upriver including a majority of the Town of Parker . District 2 is comprised of a portion of the Town of Parker , Blue Water Lagoon, Upriver, Bouse and Ehrenberg. District 3 is comprised of Wenden, Salome, Quartzsite, Cibola, La Paz Valley , Vicksburg and Alamo .

However, due to the redistricting of the State's Legislative and Congressional Districts, the Board of Supervisors have to modify the precinct lines in order to conform to the Independent Redistricting Commission's (IRC) lines.

The IRC adopted Congressional Lines that split La Paz County into two Congressional Districts, District 7 and District 2. The majority of La Paz County will be in District 7; however, the newly created Alamo Precinct (#63) in the Northeast portion of the County is in District 2.

According to the 2000 Census, there are only 23 people living in Congressional District 2.

The IRC adopted Legislative Lines that split La Paz County into two Legislative Districts,

District 24 and District 3. The IRC, in drawing their lines, split several precincts in La Paz County ; therefore, the Board of Supervisors must create three new precincts in order to accommodate these changes.

At their Regular Meeting of December 17, 2001, the Board of Supervisors adopted the changes to the Supervisorial District lines, Justice of the Peace Precinct Lines, election precinct lines, and Community College District lines - all modified to conform to the Independent Redistricting Committee's changes to the Congressional and Legislative districts.

The plan has been submitted to the Department of Justice for approval and they have sixty (60) days from receipt to make a decision. Once approved by the DOJ, the County Recorder 's office must place all citizens in the new precincts prior to March 1, 2002 .

A notice has been published and posted inviting the public to make comments to the Attorney general regarding the submission. A complete duplicate copy of the submission is available for public inspection at the Board of Supervisors office.
