Planning
Planning is an important step in securing the safety of a community. The La Paz County Health Department's Bioterrorism Preparedness Division has developed a wide range of programs to assist our county's residents and visitors in being prepared.

Responding
When a public health emergency strikes, the La Paz County Health Dept. will be there. The goal is to minimize or eliminate the negative health effects of an emergency. We are committed to constantly improve our ability to respond through preparedness, training and education.

Educating
Our people and resources are important to us. We realize the need to provide up-to-date information on a wide variety of topics that are of great concern. We have developed many presentation that are available to the general public. We have many booklets covering a wide range of health related subjects available.

The Health Department is a sponsor of CERT Teams, (Citizens Emergency Response Team) made up of community minded volunteers who have received training to help their community in times of need and have been trained to better prepare themselves in the event of a disaster. CERT training is open to all adults.
